Future Banker.
Braden Hunker is a sophomore from Cleveland, Ohio, double majoring in Finance and Data Analytics. He serves as a Portfolio Manager in the Ohio University Student Equity Management Group, where he conducts equity research with the goal of contributing to the group’s outperformance of the broader market. Braden has appreciated the opportunity to dive deep into remarkable companies while expanding his technical knowledge, developing leadership skills, and collaborating with a talented network of peers and alumni who share his passion for finance.
Outside of OUSEMG, Braden serves as the Treasurer of Pi Kappa Alpha and is a selected member of both the university’s consulting group and the Schey Sales Centre. Through these roles, he has honed his organizational, strategic, and analytical skills while working alongside other driven individuals to achieve impactful results. Braden’s interest in finance is rooted in his fascination with solving complex problems and driving impactful decisions. He is particularly drawn to the field because of its Darwinistic nature, where success is determined by innovation, resilience, and the ability to adapt in a highly competitive environment. With this passion, Braden is actively seeking opportunities in investment banking, particularly in M&A.
Outside of school, Braden enjoys both electronic and classical music, often attending live performances. When he’s not exploring music, he can be found at the poker table, where he occasionally tests the limits of his range in Texas Hold’em cash games. During quieter moments, he enjoys reading, particularly works by Howard Marks and Nassim Nicholas Taleb on anything related to markets or uncertainty. But to conclude, Braden is eager to continue building his skills and experiences, with the goal of making a meaningful impact in the field of finance.
